If you want a place for your child at one of the municipal day care institutions, you must put your child’s name down on a waiting list. As soon as your child is born, you can put their name down for a place at a nursery or childminder.
In some municipalities, you can, at the same time, put your child’s name down for at place at a kindergarten.
If you want to apply for a place at a municipal day care institution, you must contact the childcare administration in your municipality.
If you want to have your child looked after at a specific institution, you can also contact the childcare administration. They will try to accommodate your wishes in so far as possible.
If you want a place at a private institution, you must contact the institution directly. The municipality cannot allocate places at or admit children to private institutions.
