Aarhus International School
Aarhus International School offers Pre-school /Kindergarten, Primary School and Middle School inspired by the International Baccalaureate. It is a private day school for students of expatriate and Danish families interested in an English language programme of studies which prepare students for higher education. The Pre-school is located in Højbjerg, a suburb of Aarhus, while Primary and Middle School is located at Dalgas Avenue near the center of Aarhus.
Pre-School / Kindergarten
The Pre-school at Aaarhus International School follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP). The PYP encourages independence, self-confidence and prepares the children emotionally, socially and intellectually for the more formal environment of the main school. The Pre-school / Kindergarten is for children aged 3 to 6.
The school's IB Primary Years inspired programme provides a philosophy and transdisciplinary curriculum which combine practice from a range of national systems and the knowledge and experience in international schools. The PYP is for children aged 6 to 11.
Middle School follows the guidelines of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). The MYP covers eight curriculum areas and focuses on holistic learning as well as intercultural awareness. The MYP is for children aged 11 to 16.
After completion of Middle School
Upon completion of the IB's eAssessment exams at the end of the MYP5 year, students can enter the IB Diploma Programme offered by Aarhus Gymnasium.
