Below you will find the 2021 rates for a childminder (dagpleje), daynursery (vuggestue), kindergarten (børnehave) and combined day nursery and kindergarten (integreret institution)

HOW WE CLAIM THE PAYMENT

If you live in Aarhus and your child is enrolled in an institution in Aarhus:
You must pay in advance every month for 11 months. You do not  pay for the month of July. 

If you live in Aarhus but your child is enrolled in a daycare institution in another municipality:
You must pay in advance every month all year including the month of July. 

If you live in Aarhus but your child is enrolled in a SFO in another municipality:
You must pay in advance every month for 11 months. You do not pay for July.

Change of rates from April 1 2021

Due to the gradual introduction of a minimum ratio of personel in daycare institutions in Denmark rates will be changed in all daycare institutions in Aarhus as of April 1 2021. The new rates must be approved by the City Council in order to be implemented. 

WHEN YOUR CHILD TURNS 3 AFTER MARCH 1 2021

As of March 1 2021 children in Aarhus Municipality will start kindergarten from the age of 3 indtead of 2 years and 11 months. This means that your child starts kindergarten the first day of the month following your child’s 3 year old birthday.

If your child in enrolled in daycare in Aarhus Municipality we will automatically reduce your rate on the first day of the month following your child’s 3 year old birthday. This alsp applies even if your child start kindergarten earlier. The rate for a childminder (dagpleje) is not changed.

All rates apply from January 1 2021

Rates independent of age:

  • Full-time daycare 48 hours per week: 2.907 kr. per month
  • Part-time childminder in Skødstrup: 1.938 kr. per month

Daycare for children under 3 years of age including diet:

  • 30 hours per week: 3.402 kr. per month
  • 52 hours per week: 4.226 kr. per month

Children over 3 years of age including diet:

  • 30 hours per week: 1.957 kr. per month
  • 52 hours per week: 2.436 kr. per month

Children under 3 years of age without diet:

  • 30 hours per week: 2.865 kr. per month
  • 52 hours per week: 3.689 per month

Children over 3 years of age including diet:

  • 30 hours per week: 1.420 kr. per month
  • 52 hours per week: 1.899 kr. per month

Rates are changed as of April 1 provided they are approved by the City Council. 

Children under 3 years of age including diet:

  • 30 hours per week: 3.472 kr. per month
  • 52 hours per week: 4.348 kr. per month

Children over 3 years of age including diet:

  • 30 hours per week: 1.988 kr. per month
  • 52 hours per week: 2.491 kr. per month

Children under 3 years of age without diet:

  • 30 hours per week: 2.935 kr. per month
  • 52 hours per week: 3.811 kr. per month

Children over 3 years of age without diet:

  • 30 hours per week: 1.451 kr. per month
  • 52 hours per week: 1.954 kr. per month

Valnødden is a part-time daycare institution open a maximum of 40 hours per week. 

Rates without diet:

Under 3 years of age:

  • 30 hours per week: 2.865 kr. per month
  • 40 hours per week: 3.240 kr. per month

 More than 3 years of age

  • 30 hours per week: 1.420 kr. per month
  • 40 hours per week: 1.638 kr. per month

Valnødden is a part-time daycare institution open a maximum of 40 hours per week. 

Rates are without diet:

Children under 3 years of age

  • 30 hours per week: 2.935 kr. per month
  • 40 hours per week: 3.333 kr. per month

Children over 3 years of age

  • 30 hours per week: 1.451 kr. per month
  • 40 hours per week: 1.698 kr. per month

Opening hours: Monday to Friday 6.30 - 20.00.

The rates are including diet:

Under 3 years of age

  • 30 hours per week + extended hours: 3.962 kr. per month
  • 52 hours per week+ extended hours: 4.786 kr. per month

More than 3 years of age

  • 30 hours per week + extended hours: 2.150 kr. per month
  • 52 hours per week + extended hours: 2.629 kr. per month

Opening hours: Monday - Friday 6.30-20.00 (6.30am - 8pm)

Children under 3 years of age

  • 30 hours per week + extended opening hours: 4.050 kr. per month
  • 52 hours per week + extended opening hours: 4.926 kr. per month

Children over 3 years of age

  • 30 hours per week + extended opening hours: 2.191 kr. per month
  • 52 hours per week + extended opening hours: 2.694 kr. per month
